Control Arm Replacement

I got new tires on my 94 s500 with 165k today; the guy said he couldn't do the alignment because the Left Upper and Left Lower Control Arm, and Right Upper Control Arm had to be replaced. Prior to coming in I had noticed a clunking "dry metal noise" coming from the front wheel area. The mechanic called me into the workshop and started pulling/turning the wheel manually, reproducing the sound from the control arm. He said that there was no grease left between the connections and that it was completely dry. I just went onto Thebenzbin.com and under suspension, I can buy new control arms for $217 each or get the "Control Arm Bushing Kit" for $90. Do you guys think that the bushings are sufficient, regrease and reconnect because that is where the wear seems to be. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
