190e, how do you know what the number of the engine is? I have the CD but it shows a list of engine types...
Mine is an 1988 190e 2.3 gas 4 cyl.

On another note, I will be doing the engine mounts soon, but the driver side mount looks very difficult to reach the top bolt. It looks as if I will need to remove the air cleaner to get to it but I do not think the manual mentioned this, am I going about this wrong? Do you need a special long flexible ratchet extension arm to do this? Thanks for the feedback, I love this site!!

1988 190e 2.3 - 225K miles, owned for 7 years. I cannot say enough good things about this car. Very well built, even at 225 it ran like new.

I think the easiest way to get to that bolt is from the bottom.
