Hi,
I looked at same brake pads for W124, but the OE for 1993 has a flat pad, while the OE for 1995 looks like have a cut vertically across the whole pad. Does the cut makes any different ? Which is the right one ? Of if the installer cut it before putting it in ? This one shows the 'center cut' http://img.eautopartscatalog.com/live/0024203720JUR.JPG This one shows the 'flat' brake pad: http://img.eautopartscatalog.com/live/D1320DPBR.JPG |

Should not make any difference. May be a manufacturer thing. I have seen both styles for the same year car. Could also have something to do with pad composition or break-in wear characteristics. Doubt is was done by the installer. Who has the time, and why would they do that anyway??

I think that there was a post a while back that claimed the center cut helped minimize brake noise.
