I removed my front courtesy light and noticed that the previous owner has cut a (red) wire in this unit...
The wire I am talking about is connected to the round sensor(?) at the top right side between the switch and (heater) temperature sensor. Does anyone know what function this round sensor(?) has? Personally I think it has something to do with the factory mounted alarm system, but I am not sure... thanks in advance & greetingz,

Donnie,
Although the car never came with factory mounted cell phone (like most of the European SLs), you might have a point here. The front doesn't really look like it can "sens a lot of things"...I have soldered the wire again and if it will cause trouble in any possible way, I will find out soon enough. Thanks & greetingz,
