My sunroof does not close all the way and the wind defector is not the problem it seems the sunroof when sliding close something in back hangs it up, I have to reopen and then close it again. I try to look but I can not see what the problem is. I remove the headliner from the sunroof and the sunroof seems to close find. I can not figure out why the headliner can cause this to happen, but it seems to have some affect. This problem has started recently. New sunroof motor, cable, all new mechanism sometime ago

Hey Eddie,
Welcome to the club. My sunroof on our '88 has been a problem from day one. (last November) I have posted many times and everyone says it must be the adjustment. I don't understand either. The mechanism is fairly complex but the adjustments seem relatively limited. If you find anything out please post your findings as like I said, I am struggling with this as well. The other day I had mine working fine without the lining but then when I put that in it opened and closed but wouldn't go up. Then after opening and closing a few times now the liner popped off and it jammed. I took the liner out and the roof opened and closed but no up. I, like others with this problem am about ready to weld it closed. Are the adjusting guides needed to install the roof correctly? Anyone? Thanks

my problem is the wind visor

It won't go down (neither will the girlfriend, but that's another story). If I press the guides on either side down, it goes down. But the action of the sunroof doesn't cut it. I'm thinking of epoxying something, like a strip of plastic or metal over the guide to shorten the gap between the guide and the roof.

A Mercedes Stuck Sunroof Club? With my reply we've got enough for four officers. My 1986 300E goes about 75% and groans to a stop. A local service department says they need $85 to "inspect and diagnose." Out of fear, I've only been opening it about halfway.
