Question My C180 Sport will not rev above 3500rpm

HI guys,

I have a problem with my 1997 c180 sport, it will not rev past 3500rpm. I am about to change the fuel filter as they did not do it at the merc garage..

If I put the accelerator pedal all the way down when the engine gets up to 3500 it feels like the car hits a rev limiter and kepps reving down??

Any ideas??

thanks in advance

MIckey
