My mechanic just can't seem to get it right...on my 190E automatic transmission. It shifts hard from 1st to 2nd. He put in a new spring kit and it's still doing the same thing. He tried three different gaskets with different hole configurations but I donīt think he got it right. My guess is that the hydraulic pressure is not filling the chamber correctly because in a slow acceleration and sometimes shifting while turning there is no hard shift. Or could it be a stiff spring or nicked valve ?

The $700. valve kit is not an option. I can live with the hard shift for now. I am considering a used valve body though.
