95' e320 with broken drive shaft/flex disc

Found this e320 close by and will be looking at it further tomorrow. $700 for 95' e320. What should I expect to spend replacing these items? New flex disc for sure. But is it a good idea to buy a used driveshaft? Thanks for your thoughts and ideas.

flex disks are easy and cheap, looking at about $120 for both. If you can find a used drive shaft maybe, check the existing out out. They are remarkedly durable.

OK cool that doesnt sound to bad. Hope the rest of the car is not trashed. $700 almost sounds TOO cheap you know?

This could be a great deal, it could also be a very bad deal. 95 E320s have a handful of very very common and very very expensive problems. They are: enigne wire harness, head gasket, throttle actuator, and ac evaporator. The cost of correcting these common problems can easily exceed the value of the car.

well it turns out the driveshaft is demolished. It broke loose on the freeway and trashed the underside. Also it is a MB repair shop selling the car for a customer. They quoted the customer a few thou $$ too repair the car and the customer walked out and bought a new car. The customer asked the Indie to sell the car for whatever. I am surprised he did not want to buy it and repair it but I know what a pain that can be. I have not seen the car yet. He just returned my call today and assured me the wiring harness and head gasket are good. I have never had a MB with working air so I would not know how to use it anyway. I will for sure see the car tomorrow. Thanks for the suggestions.

$700 ??? I would buy it in a minute,,, sight unseen. Parts alone off that car could bring you thousands. Wish I was closer.

I cannot believe a shop would sell that car for $700 if all it needs is flex disks and a rebuilt driveshaft, which you can buy on that internet all day long for maybe $350. Or a used one for $150. And $125 worth of flex disks.

Just doesn't make sense.

Take a good look under the chassis..when a disc goes on a highway, the shaft turns into a distruction machine..they rip up the tunnel, crack differential cases, break tailshafts, etc.. one can easily total a car..

Well when I got to the shop yesterday to see the car it had been sold. Someone beat me to it by just a few hours. However they had not picked up the car so I got to look at what I missed. It ran good and had cold air. However the body was dented and dinged and it had a set of c280 rims on it Interior was good but non of it matters now. It sold. Better luck to me next time. Thanks for the comments.
