The dust yes...but even more so....the brake cleaner. That stuff lets off some intense brain-impairing (especially a young kids developing brain) emissions....I've gotten dizzy before after accidentally having a cloud of that vapor blow past. Scary stuff.

Would this write-up apply for the w124 model as well or are there substantial differences amongst the two brake systems?

They are slightly more complicated, I'd recomend you making your wife do a W124!
