Benz Folk -
Could someone tell me what to unplug when setting/changing ignition timing on a 1987 560sl. I have tried everything. Thanks |

It Can't be "adjusted"
The distributor on the 560 series cars does nothing but "distribute" spark. The timing is all done by the ignition control unit.
You can get it to run "different" by turning the distributor...but that is just due to changing the distance between the rotor and the cap contacts....it has nothing to do with timing. You can alter the ignition box settings slightly with different refference resistors. Regards, Randy D. |
