300E Alternator Issues...
OK...it looks like I need to replace my alternator and need some advice.
Is the original Bosch 80 or 90 amp? Secondly, I can get a reman Denso considerably cheaper than a rebuilt Bosch. Anyone have experience with the Denso? Thirdly, do I need to know anything specific about replacing the alternator other than removing the battery terminals so I don't "fry" anything? It looks like a pretty simple job, but every time I work on a car, something always seems to go wrong... Thanks in advance, Bill Last edited by Bill '90 300E; 12-12-2008 at 12:47 PM. |

Denso makes good stuff. It is a Japanese company. Our Toyota has its original Denso alternator still....with nearly 150k on it.

How did you determine you need a new alternator?
It may be the brushes...BIG difference in price. It is a five minute job. Do a search!
