Angry Check Engine Light

1996 S320 check engine light is on and the car smells like the cat converter is running hot, or has that sulpher smell. The local MB tech said it was probably just fuel additives and not to worry. He said the codes were not anything major, cancelled the light and it came back on 10 miles later. The car runs fine but I cant stand the light, any suggestions?????

Sounds like the converter is clogged!!!

What kind of tech resets the code and ignores it???

I am glad he doesn't work at a nuclear power plant console!!!

I am wondering if this tech even knows how to retrieve the codes and even understand what they mean.
