jmerc6, the line you bent is a coolant line which runs under the intake manifold to the oil cooler, according to my Haynes Manual. Be sure to replace the O-ring where it attaches to the water pump.

I agree from your description, there is a coolant pipe from the water pump to the oil filter/cooler. Whats odd is that my manual states its only for Australia (code 625).
