you're going to need to lower it with the 18's to make it look right or else it will look very very stupid with big wheels and a ton of fender gap.

I'm actually going with 17s. Still think it will look stupid?

Yeah, my 300TE looked odd with 17s at the stock ride height.

Lowered it, and IMO it looks perfect.

so why didn't they remove the hood star and grill to get a better paint job? from what i remember, they were supposed to add a flex agent to the paint so it doesn't chip off of the plastic bumper it seems they just went a straight shot paint job?? did they paint over the windshield washer jets too? poke those with a toothpick when you get the car out, they may be clogged up.

NICE wagon though! seriously like THE best color combo for them.

These are the same folks who painted my 300D, and while they don't remove all the trim, their masking marks are unnoticable. I was a little peeved that they didn't take the 5 minutes to remove the hood star, but its my fault I didn't do that beforehand. The jets are masked off, don't worry.

They did prime the bumper properly, and the hood. Keep in mind this is not meant to be show quality, but I'm sure it will come out fantastic.

I'm picking it up in about an hour or so.

Now you need a Myna motor for it to make it perfect, ...

Oops, wrong forum.

Wait a bit. Does that have anything to do with those diesel myna fuel pumps people talk about?

It must be the Excelsior's day. The Arizona climate was not kind to the original wood.

Perfect, except for the extra (fader) slot in the shift wood.

Yes, the Myna/superturbodiesel/finns folks, ... trying to be subtle (but not trying very hard).

Yes, I noticed that too. I'll just get a fader to put in the slot, even though it won't be functional.

No need to put that useless fader thing in. Put in any switch you want, and wire it to do something clever. Gsxr has used it to turn on hard wired radar detectors, power to the radio independant of the ignition switch, etc. Another friend used it to turn on driving lights independant of the headlight switch. Another friend used it in the fuel pump circuit for theft prevention.

I wired an extra rear light switch to the high speed circuit for the aux fans at the temp sensor on the head, so that I can turn them on when driving around town with the AC on. Running them makes a big difference in the cooling ability of my "converted to r134 by the PO" air conditioning in my TE.

Some day I hope to use it to energize the force field around my car to prevent texting drivers from rear ending me

When I had my 94 wagon, I often wondered about lowering and what would be involved, especially with the self leveling. What springs would be used and would any other modifications be required?

PS For 94 Wagon, I have owner's manual, stereo book, rebuilt stereo [by Becker] and Alpine 6 cassette changer available.

I'm not sure I agree on the lowering. Sure, it looks good, but I've got a set of 16x8s on my '95 and IMO it looks correct, fills the fenderwells properly and rides great at stock ride-height (in sig). There is a trade-off when you reduce the primary suspension component (tires) a great deal with a +2 or +3" wheel like you're considering, lowering the car will further degrade the ride and driveability to the point where it'll be like driving an '80s Corvette. BTDT a few times. Slammed crappy-riding cars are perfect for Hondas.

If you want to enjoy driving the car, drive it for transportation and hauling, lowering the car will make it much less useable IMO. Leave the lowering for a show car and let the wagon have some pride with +1 or +2 wheels x7.5" and correct offset, Michelins, and keep it useable.

A myna diesel would be awesome. The M104 is ok too......but I am partial to the M103.

Now, a M103 super-turbo putting 650hp to the rear wheels would be the best IMHO.

Our 300E needs to be repainted, and my father in law (been in body shop for over 25+ years) might repaint it in the spring....its nice having a body shop person in the family! The only cost will likely be just the paint itself.
