The lights I have now are the halogen type. They were the only ones that I could find. The lighting is okay... What are the H1 and H4?

H1 and H4 are bulb types.

BTW, I think I was referring to H7's being the 'better' design.

Just realized that H1 is mostly used in fog lights...

holson

actually the h3 is the most common fog light bulb.

h1's are used more and more in headlights and also some 'major' fog/driving lights.

steve

authentic euro's would make day and night difference, looks and performance.

aren't these sweet....

I would really like them

Hello Peter.

They look great and I wish I could buy a pair now. I have a lot of maintenance to do and have to put it off. Maybe after I am done with sub frame and control arm bushings, fuel injectors cleaned and a valve compensator or two. I have been a little carreer displaced so I don't have the old cash flow either. They are about $600 a pair, plus I would have to perform the installation.

Oh well, patience...

$500.00 per pair for OEM BOSCH w107 euros.

when you're ready let me know, i'll help you find the best price.

do you have wipers or vacuum control [headlights] on your car?
some of that was standard euro.

Thank You Peter

Sounds great. I do have the vacuum lines and dash control but not the wipers. The wipers look really nice and useful as well but I understand they are hard to install if they are not in place.

Well, after you have seen my leaky transmission and my leaky power steering reservoir, you might as well see the rest:

That is some serious low mileage !! Are you the original owner?

BTW, I just had my pwr steering box rebuilt to the tune of $410.

Hi Todd,

I am the second owner since August of 2002. Was traded in by that proverbial "little old lady", she traded it for a Caddy.

After front and rear suspension and brake work, starter and gearring, and now a leaking transmission, I wonder whether low miles is really as important as I thought it was. If you look at all these beautyful cars with hundreds of thousands of miles on them ...

It sure shows that people on this site love and maintain their cars.

Regards
Reinhard Kreutzer

The way I look at it...

.....is even if I have to pony up another 5 grand on top of what I paid for mine, which was $8K by the way in July '02, I'm still gonna be driving a $60K car which is a heckuva alot better than being stuck in some $25K hunk of Motor City plastic !!

I've been lucky in that it only needed front wheel bearings and and a leaky steering box fixed so far. I'll be doing a timing chain soon and prolly a new exhaust in the fall, but who cares! haha. I love these big old SEL's !! I even catch the "nouveau" E-classer's sneaking a glance at my old "tanker".

Cheers and hang in there. You'll get it to where it's "right".

Todd
