Tapatalk is not installed. There are security issues / database issues associated with allowing the Tapatalk application direct access to the database. I installed it for a while on the Pelican site, and then I think I disabled it. I'll be installing a mobile theme instead in the near future.

I'll take another look at it in the next day or so. If enough people use it, then it may make it worthwhile. I didn't really think anyone used TapaTalk anymore.

This isn't actually a good way to do this, you need a proper mysql query logger to see what your databases are trying to process

The problem is that they use the built-in upload feature of vBulletin, and because it's an app, there's no way to change that, other than I guess disabling image uploading from TapaTalk. The image uploading features in vBulletin are not that good, and we've been running a custom version on Pelican that is much, much easier to use. I see people on the forums here posting to PhotoBucket, etc, all the time instead of using the feature here because it's a pain. For the sake of keeping all the content here, you want the photos posted on PeachParts, not somewhere else. So, I would like to move to this other system in the future. If I install the Tapatalk plug-in, then we can't do that (as far as I know).

Just to let you know - it doesn't actually impede any of the forum experience but - when I go to my user home page it often says my current activity is doing something that I'm not!

For example it said I was looking at an attachment on a thread that I previously had not visited (I of course clicked to see what I was meant to be doing so it turned out to be self prophesying... but I don't think that that is the point...)

Hello Wayne.

I'm sure your quite busy so prioritize my comment as you need.

If one was the original poster of a thread we use to have the ability to either lock the thread or delete it. That seems to have vanished.

It would be nice if those features were returned.

Thanks.

I believe the features will function if the original post has been up for 21 days or less.

I did a test thread and had no issue deleting it.

Brian,

I cannot do so and posted here demonstrating that -

No longer able to delete Post/Thread

Someone else tried and also could not -

No longer able to delete Post/Thread

I use to be able to.

So I just went back, created a thread, posted a second comment & then tried to either lock or delete the thread.

I can delete all posts but the first. I cannot delete the thread and cannot lock it.

If BC can than it's even an odder situation that some can and some can't.

Thanks.

I created a test thread:

I will attempt to delete it in a few minutes.

Deleted without any issues.

So, I'm in the dark as well why it works for some but not for others.

I believe you my good man.

It was because of the anomalous behavior that I've mentioned it.

Perhaps you have some residual privileges from your earlier status.

I think you might be correct about the residual privileges. The box that I have reminds me of the moderator features. It's entitled "thread moderation" and has two options............one to delete the thread and one to close it.

Sorry if I've drawn the wrong conclusion due to this.
