Hi everyone. First off, Merry Christmas! I have a question regarding one little part that seems to be missing from my valve body and I'm hoping there are some 722.3 gurus around that might be able to help. In the process of resealing the front pump and replacing the B3 friction discs, I decided to take apart the valve body and clean it. When I removed the shift valve housing I was careful not to lose any valves and nothing dropped out, same with splitting the upper and lower halves. When looking at the FSM however, I noticed there is one valve that is missing from the upper portion. It is labeled "Non-return valve of primary pump" and is number 24 on the attached image.
I never saw this valve when I pulled the housing from the transmission, and its pretty large and hard to miss. I've looked all over the very small space that I'm working in and its nowhere to be found. I'm wondering if its possible that the 722.369 didn't use this valve? (the manual I have lists 26 different versions of the 722.3, but does not include the .369) I'm also wondering if someone has removed the valve body in the past and lost it then. I do have a 5 year old receipt from the PO where he brought the car to the dealer because the transmission would not upshift. They removed the kickdown solenoid and suggested a valve body replacement, but he declined the work so I'm not sure what he ended up doing to fix it. Aside from the slipping reverse, the transmission has shifted fine in the 10k miles I've driven the car.
Anyone know if all 722.3 valve bodies used this valve, and if so, what the part number is and where I might be able to find one quickly? I really want to get this thing buttoned up so I can get it back in the car. Thanks!
