190E 1.8 owners
Are there any other 190E 1.8 owners around here?
I ask this because I don't see a lot of 190E 1.8's around (Holland). We got this car recently from my grandmother. It's build in 1991. I was a bit surprised when we got it, because it only had a 4-speed manual transmission (and no abs). But it had central locking. Is this a too early 190E 1.8 to get a 5-speed gearbox or something? I know other 1.8's have a 5-speed. Besides, what would it cost to replace the 4-speed with a 5-speed (it's making a lot of noise, you know). |

Hoe gaat het met u?
These 190E 1.8's are really common in Jakarta, Indonesia. I guess the guy did not opt for 5-speed. I'd think that post-90 cars would have the 5-speed (manual) ..gearbox.. versnellingsbak ja? ![]() If you could find a wrecked 190E with a good 5-speed tranny maybe you could do a swap. How much, I'm not too sure sorry. Tot ziens -Holson- ps. I don't speak Dutch :p just know bits and pieces..

Je spreekt het redelijk hoor.
Indeed, maybe he didn't choose the 5-speed. But when I compare the price paid for it, with the properties it should have, there should be a 5-speed. |
