Your dealer *should* (not sure about a 24 year old) be able to do so. I needed another key for my MB, gave them the VIN and they got me one.

The dealer can get you brand new keys using your VIN #.

I got some made a few months ago because my old keys were very worn.

Can't speak for how it is everywhere, but some dealers will request proof of ownership(title) and a picture id(your drivers license).

keys

I went to my local MB dealer to get a second key. He said that it would be two weeks and $35.00. Another guy at the shop told me of a locksmith and he cut me a key for $2.50. Lost keys will require you to go to the dealer for the 1st key. Then find a locksmith who carries MB blanks and get a few cut! Or, the lock smith may be able to open the cylinder and cut you some keys by matching the tumblers.
