I took my 1995 C280 to a "foreign car" shop to have an "in between" oil change. I was told that the filter case was on too tight and they could not remove it with their tools. Later, my dealer changed it with no problem and said it should be very tight. My question: what tool can I get to remove the oil filter cover and where can I buy one? Also, is there a book like a Chilton's explaining service for a C280?

There is a special tool made by both Hazet and Sthalwillie that is made for this specific application. The local Snap-On tool man in your area will be able to help.

You need a 76mm oil filter socket, many parts stores i.e. Pep Boys or NAPA stock them. You should be able to buy one for $10.
