Hello
The front control arm bushings on my 1982 300D need replacing and I'd like to do it myself. The lower and upper arms bushings to the body need replacement and one of the lower ball joints to wheel hub. Looking in the MB manual they seem like straightforward jobs but demand special tools for the removal and insertion of the bushings. Is there a way to do those jobs without the tools? I replaced the idler arm bushings without the tools and that went OK but am unsure about the control arms bushings. Thanks in advance for any tips. Lower control arm bushings are an advanced repair. I would not recommend a do it yourselfer to do it. It can be dangerous if the springs are not handled with care. You need a special tool to flare the ends and to remove them.
