PLEASE HELP ME! I AM STYMIED! I am rebuilding a 83 240D with 616.912, engine number 616-011-28-01, 83 B21. The piston are stamped 90.875, 1 in one place and 64 in another place. They do not have a Star on them. The Mercedes Piston spec table is shown at http://www.jersey.net/~rtc/BENZ.html and does not list these pistons. My bore measures at 90.881 or 3.578". Furthermore why did the builder of this engine use 90.875 pistons-what was his rationale? ARE THESE AFTERMARKET PISTONS?
WHAT RINGS DO I ORDER? IF U DO NOT KNOW ANSWER, ANY SUGGESTIONS? [This message has been edited by Carrameow (edited 09-28-1999).] [This message has been edited by Carrameow (edited 09-28-1999).] |
