ABS: Pressure Bleeder for Brake Fluid

Is there an issue that you need more than a pressure bleeder to replace brake fluid on more recent cars (2001 C320)? I read somewhere that you need a computer to open the ABS stuff for a proper flush. Now I can't find the comment.

As a side comment, my reading of the Mercedes US website is that brake fluid replacement is not covered by the current maintenance commitment program for new cars; only items listed under the A or B service are covered. Brake fluid changes are separately scheduled as required every other year. If you have a recent car, make sure this work gets done one way or another.
