ABS: Pressure Bleeder for Brake Fluid
Is there an issue that you need more than a pressure bleeder to replace brake fluid on more recent cars (2001 C320)? I read somewhere that you need a computer to open the ABS stuff for a proper flush. Now I can't find the comment.
As a side comment, my reading of the Mercedes US website is that brake fluid replacement is not covered by the current maintenance commitment program for new cars; only items listed under the A or B service are covered. Brake fluid changes are separately scheduled as required every other year. If you have a recent car, make sure this work gets done one way or another. |

My local MB dealer in Newport Beach CA, Fletcher Jones, did not charged me for brake and coolant flushes when I had my car in for second A service early this week. Gillybenztech wrote very clearly about these two items a couple months ago that they are covered under Maintenance Commitment plan for model year 2000 and newer US cars.
First B service this week. Anything special I should ask them to do? Also, if you read 2 small books in owner's packet: Maintenance book and Warranty book, you will see that they are paid for by MBUSA. Show your service writter these books and Gilly's writting, demand that they bill MB for brake flush when you bring your car in for B service.
