Wow, isn't that something. i had a chirping sound on my MB sometime ago, and for sure it has been coming from the fan motor blower when it is ON not OFF. yes, it is annoying but mine was intermittenly, hence, i ignored it. chirping went away but one day blower motor failed. my mechanic replaced the regulator not the blower motor. regulator not cheap either. $500 parts & labor. whether chirping sound and regulator failure are related, i am not sure. chirping sound now gone but so is my $500 bucks.

also experiencing fan blower problem - it
didnt make noise, but does not come on.
Prior to it quiting completely, it would come
on upon am start up, and quit after minute or so. In addition, selecting a different speed
on fan also would cause it to stop and not
restart. fuse is ok.
looks like a little time comsuming to get it
out - assume it is removed from center of
console after radio is removed?

thx.

dale, based on what i've learned, there are 3 things that could be wrong.
1. fan motor blower
2. motor regulator
3. climate control unit
unfortunately, all three items cost big $$$ for parts and labor. when i mechanic replaced by fan regulator it costs me 4 hours in labor cost (2 hrs. to take out and 2 hrs. to replace back.) the same should be true with the fan motor. the climate control unit replacement is easy. but make sure it is the problem. good luck.

Im totally confused....i mean...the speeds on the climate control work fine, A/C and heat are excellent, but this chirping sound comes on and off, even when the climate control is off, i know its big bucks, and usually when theres a chirping sound, it means the blower is shot--but the blower works fine--chirp is present, and again...chirp is on and off when the climate control is off...its driving me crazy...

On the verge of dumping kerosine on the car and setting a match to it (just kidding)

Anyone with thoughts.....please help
