Where is the Cruise Control Sensor on '85 190E? Is it attached to the back of the speedo head. Is there a way to test? My cruise control sometimes works fine other times it will fluctuate speed when engaged. I have checked solder joints on cruise control computer and heated them up again with soldering iron to make sure none were bad but to no avail. I have also read that it is possible for brake light bulbs to cause this problem. How would you check the above??? Any help or link to website would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance, Steve |

Yes speed sensor is on speedo head, can be checked for voltage out-put while driving.
Voltage signal can be tested at cruise ECU. |

Steve,
If you do find that your sensor is defective I have a used one from my 1984 190D because I'm replacing the whole speedo assy with a digital unit. The cruise has never been hooked up since I did the engine swap. Make me an offer and its yours. Make it higher and you can have it all! TobiasMB 300SE, 300CE, 190/5.0 |
