One of the rear electric window mechanisms on my '84 300SD is broken. The motor and arms are intact, the only problem is the white plastic slider that fits into the track attached to the bottom of the glass. This plastic piece appears to be riveted to the arm. What is the best option for fixing it? (I tried epoxying the plastic piece back together but it wouldn't hold.) I would like to replace as little--read as inexpensively--as possible. Thanks

That plastic is polyethlene. Nearly impossible to glue. Best bet is to try and locate a used part. Usually fixing these mechanisms is a short-lived proposition. To much movement and stress..

You can get the slide jaws seperately for this car!!! You can buy a new part and drill off the old one. The trick is riveting it back on without breaking it. If you are careful, it can be done. If you will buy more parts than just the lifter guide, we can send you one I am sure. Check out partsshop.

Buy 2 or more plastic sliders, just in case the first one break while you are working on it. It is not that expensive. Another way to fix it is to tap a screw hole (on the new slider) and use a screw instead of rivet.
