WTF water comin out of AC vents

Hello everyone,

I'm not guna lie and say that I'm an expert with Benzos, but I do have quiet a bit more knowledge about the car overall than the average person. I've done quiet a bit of readding and learning since I got a 99 E320.

I have no idea how to start explaining this, but here we go. I smoke cigarettes in the car but don't like to have the windows/sunroof open because I'm usually going fast and the noise bugs me. So what I do is I set the AC on, put it on recirculate, and also turn on the charcoal filter. Nice n quiet. Anyways, last night I'm driving home from work and I'm about to spark up, so I set on the AC etc etc, and to my surprise I notice there's WATER coming out of all the front AC vents, at first I thought I was losing it so I pulled over to make sure I'm okay. I was okay. Not hallucinating. So AC goes back on and again there's a very slow drip of water coming from the vents, just a thin stream of water slowly coming out of all of them. I had the balls to taste the water and to my surprise it didn't have any taste. I have no idea wtf is going on, maybe this has something to do with me having the economy thing on all the time? cuz i don't really need the comp. working, the outside temp is good. But god damn man, can anyone tell me what is going on? How can water be comin from the vents. HOW??!? It kept coming for the 5 mins I had it on. ahh man this sucks cuz all the inside got wet. i'm so pissed off and confused at the same time, duno what to say.

Sorry about your problem, and I cannot help or suggest anything. But the way you told the story had me cracking up.

Alright I tried to use the AC with the recirculation mode off, and water still came, tried with the charcoal filter off, water still came, tried with the EC mode off, water still came. My temps are set to 60F. Man, and I thought i was doing something GOOD for the AC system by keeping it on recirculation and acctually using up the life of the charcoal to filter it instead of.......whatevers, i'm really tired of it.

please reply w any ideas, i'll take em all into account.

I presume you wouldn't like the taste of anitfreeze, so I imagine you are getting condensate water pushed through the vents. I would wonder if the drains are clogged. I have never had a plugged drain on a 210 car so can't help much there.

When the "EC" light is on the compressor is off. If it isn't on then the compressor is on no matter the setting. You might wish to monitor the evap temp as the sensors are always going bad. They cause a number of symptoms. To see the sensor value push the "rest" button and hold it around 10 seconds. The display will say "1" on the left. Click the left side "auto" button and the number will scroll down. Look at "5". This is the evaporator temp. It should read ambient temp first thing in the morning and it should aproach 32 deg F usually stopping 35-39deg. Anything other would be wrong.

My 99 E430 showed 99deg F the first time I was driving it home. Compressor worked fine, but I couldbn't get high blow through the center ducts without setting the temp about 10-15 degrees lower than I should of had to. This was a new fault symptom for the bad sensor. Usually it would read 150+deg and the compressor would cycle off and eventually stay off.

Man what the hell I've prolly ruined some of the interior of the car from the water running out of the vents, come on the money I paid for this car is like a million dollars to me, hard earned money. I dunno, the only new thing I've figured out is if I set the temps high so that the foot vents are blowing air, water come out of them too. Not sure about the rear foot vents, I did try to accelerate real hard so that maybe the water comes out of them, but none from the back foot vents. I'm thinking this might be a joke or something, and if it is then the person who is behind it is guna have to suffer. How in the world can I be getting a steady stream of water coming out of the AC vents man? HOW? If this is a joke, I'm guna get the guy (assuming it's a male) and take him to a nice large empty garage that has a roof. I'm guna make him put his own weeneer inbetween something very heavy or somehow tie it down, and then set the whole damn place on fire. If he wants to live, he's guna have to get his weeeneer cut off by his own power. Cuz honestly, this is pissing me off to the point that I find myself having enough energy to just rip an arm off from the person behind this. If it's not ajoke, it's some kind of manufacturing error, BECAUSE HOW CAN WATER BE FLOWING OUT OF THE VENTS GOD DAMN IT.

This would not happen on the Earth's Moon or Mars (allegedly).

It is happenng to you because there is water in the atmosphere - even when you are fouling it up on recirc!

Blocked drains man - get on with it!

PS: If you find they are 'clogged' then the previous owner may have been a Dutch fella!

Before accusing the world for your problem.
1) Check your drains.
2) get of the recirculate mode. If you read your owners manual (it is meant to be read), it will tell you the recic. mode should only be used for short periods of time as it generates a lot of humidity.
