Forget you "Mechanic" and find a qualified Mercedes-Benz Technician. He will have no problem making this repair. It is a very routine repairs that also happens to be very easy on a 126 chassis car. If you are slightly mechanicaly incline this is a DIY project. You should be able to complete this repair with normal tools and skills in a couple of hours.
