I've noticed when I park my 1988 300E next to others of the same vintage, mine seems to be sitting significantly higher. How hard is it to replace/change the spring pads to a thinner pad? I haven't looked to see how many 'dots' I have but I'm curious to know what's involved in changing the pads. Thanks.

You may want to look into checking if something else needs replacement and do it at the same time. It is labor intensive and you need at least a spring compressor. Otherwise, it is not cost effective to change just the pads. Do a search on the subject. Check with parts shop about the "sport" conversion for you car, may be a partial conversion (struts, springs) may work for you, if you want a lower better handling ride.
