I'm off to a frugal start. Another local 123 owner just did his entire setup over and he gave me his known good compressor, which he replaced with a new one so that he'd have a warranty on his whole system.
His car uses R134a. Anything I should do now with the used compressor to prep it to go back to R12?

It would be my opinion to not install ANY R4 compressor (new or used) in your 'Benz. Especially with the cost of R12. The GM R4 compressors are very unreliable. You could get one that will last a couple years, but also get one that will fail soon after installation. They are just not worth the effort and expense. Best to use a Sanden style compressor, and do the job once. Again, just my opinion...Rich
