I just did the outer on a 210 the other day, and no need to remove the spring. I did need to completely remove the knuckle, as the lower bushing is pressed into it. I don't believe that the 124 chassis is much different (bushing replacement procedure). However, the inners do require the spring to be removed so the LCA can be removed. A hydraulic press is needed to remove the old bushing, and press in the new one (wish I had gotten photos to post). I have a ball joint press ("C" clamp type) that has a bunch of different size tubes, but I just find a socket that fits just right to press the new bushing in....Rich
