'95 E320 antenna operates even when radio is off.

The antenna in my wagon goes up as soon as the ignition is turned on even if the radio is off. What should I check so it only works with the radio. It has 2 connecters going into the top and the connector with the single blue wire is labeled 12V and the antenna still does this when I disconnect that wire.

If your car has the factory installed phone it will make the antenna go up if it is turned on. From looking at the picture it looks like the antenna cable for the phone is there.

Good luck, Robert

Good catch. Yes it has the factory phone and I hear a short tone from the speakers whenever I start the car. So there is no way to shut that feature off and only have the antenna work when the radio is turned on?

If the handset for the phone is installed you can turn the phone off at the handset.

I have the exact same problem in my 95 E300. Any ideas how to totally remove the phone feature and still have radio and CD?
