Antenna problems
The factory Hirschmann antenna in my '86 300E doesn't work so I removed it and took the cover off to test the motor. The motor works fine and the mast goes up and down smoothly so the electronic circuit board must be bad. Does someone sell a replacement? If not, what other models used this antenna so I can look in the junk yard for a circuit board? The local U-pull-it sells the antennas for $10 but I doubt they have may Mercedes W124's. As an alternative, can I rewire the dash antenna switch to make the antenna work manually?

Becker Radio handles the antennas. Sells new and repairs old. Their web page is:

If the motor works...
I would check the connections and see if the motor is getting power BEFORE buying any parts.

I just decided to turn it into a manual antenna by just removing the motor. Now I can raise and lower the mast by hand for the few times I may use the radio. (the radio even works good with the mast down)
