Check your battery ground cable!

I have my battery and tray out to replace the sway bar mount. I was looking at my ground cable and the connection that is screwed in by the hood hinge was green! It didn't look to healthy so I decided to replace it. I went down to the boat yard and bought some tinned 2/0 ground cable with a tinned battery end and a tinned loop end. After a little soldering, crimping, and some heat shrinking I now have a heavy duty ground cable that is 10 times better then the original MB one. Cost me about $12, I used quality Ancor stuff too.

So did you find your sway bar mounts the mystery of the front noise?

Wow, I've never looked under the hood of a 126! Your battery must be located in a different place than on the 124. My battery is located just in front of the passengers side firewall. BB

I don't know I have not driven the car yet, I found a little rust that I am taking care of. In another hour I will put the last coat of paint on and later tonight put everything back together.

I think my front end problem is the ABS acting up, I just put 200+ highway miles on it over the last two days. It was windy out and the car locked into its lane at 70-80, the front end is perfect.

The battery is in the same place, I am only replaceing the pasengers side mount the drivers side is a huge project.

Indeed I replaced mine with Heavy Duty 2-gauge welding cable. Also added another HD ground cable between the negative post and the engine block. The third HD ground cable from engine block back to the spring tower bolt holding down the battery tray.
