Actually it was WI, but only about 30 miles into it.

My guess is that many people in the country (where the station was located) use diesel as fuel for burning in heaters. So they can sell straight #2 a bit cheaper than blended as people that use it for heating use that.

But I could be wrong and your statment could be correct. I should have asked them at the counter.

Cheapest RUG in town is 1.84, and diesel is still between 2.14 and 2.44..hopefully it will sit still while gas fluctuates!

At least the gap has become a bit narrower

HHO went up .16 today. Suspect diesel will follow so the gap between RUG and Diesel may widen again.

Crude is starting to drop again... Last month the Fed starting to purchase crude again so demand went up a bit and I would guess the Speculators are rubbing their hands in anticipation...
Diesel is still way over priced...

Makes me think they are selling dyed fuel for highway use. Caveat emptor.

From my last post on 12-03-2008:

Gasolene - $1.659 (has been down to $1.589 recently)

Diesel - $2.799

Today:

Gasolene - $1.799

Diesel - $2.299

I'll take it, but I don't understand the pricing. The latest trend does go toward the thought that diesel should be cheaper than gasolene. And another thing, now that states can develop their own emissions standards, you can expect gasolene prices to go up as multiple "formulas" are required.

Will there be two standards, Federal and California+13 others, or will there be 15 standards? Do the "other" states have to follow whatever California sets as the standard?

Here in 'YuppieLand, Northern Virginia, it's still $2.37 at my neighborhood Texaco. And the gougers up Route 1, at the Liberty gas station, are demanding $2.89!

Filled up at 1.89 today at the Arco on Center and Union in Tacoma. It's nice to fill the tank from darn near empty on $30. I forsee the gap widening this summer as heating oil demand drops and people start driving more, driving the price of gas up. Less demand from the shipping industry will also help bring D2 down even more. We may be headed back to the good ol' days!

Our local price has dropped to 2.199, with RUG at 1.859. Funny thing is, now the cheapest local diesel is again cheaper than the cheapest local premium gas. Just bought 15 gal for about $33, a far cry from last summer when
I hit the $100 credit card cutoff for 20.004 gallons at 4.999
