CDI Fuel Filter Leak

I'm in the process of trying to figure out a fuel leak. I have a small amount of fuel pooling at the back of the filter on my 06 CDI. I'm going to make sure hoses and clamps are perfect, but I suspect there's a possibility that the fuel is leaking from the top center of the filter.

The filter has been in there about 13k miles and the o-rings were replaced. If the hose connections don't solve the problem I will replace the filter. Anything in particular I should look for as the source of the leak?

Both the filter that's in there and the spare that I have on hand are Hengst. Think I'll buy MB branded next time....only $12 more.

I have had experience with a leak as well, but in an '07 V6 (same exact filter). I replaced the O ring in the sensor, and that fixed the leak. It is also a possibility that the hoses will leak after a few filter replacements, even though the clamps and hoses are reusable. I doubt the MB branded filter would be any better than a Mann or Hengst, as they are probably made by one of those companies anyway.

I noticed some wetness at the base of the water separator. So I took it out, replaced the o-rings, and that seemed to do the trick. The o-rings looked fine, but who knows? Either the o-rings were bad or simply re-seating the water water separator made a better seal.
