.novel way to pin point electrical faults..

I saw this method on YouTube by 'this old tony' (great channel) locating bad electrical components within circuit boards.

In essence you use a thermal imaging camera to identify changes in heat source, however small.

Perhaps an intermittent drain (short) would have a temp signal at point of contact or along the wire, has anyone tried this method on cars?
