Question 2008 E320 Bluetec Oil Change

My 2008 E320 Bluetec is going to need a oil change and the old oil is black with that look of overdue oil.
I was thinking to make one change using regular oil and use it for the maximum of 1K miles just to clean the engine from that old black oil and then make a second oil change whit the engine already clean. For the second oil change I would use synthetic the oil as recommended by Mercedes Benz.
Should I do or not do it?
Thanks

It’s a Diesel. Black oil is normal. Within tens of miles new oil will be black.

Use diesel rated oil ONLY.

Also diesel oil has far more detergents than gasoline rated oils, so don't worry about it being cleaned.
Get mobil 1 0w-40 European car formula at walmart and a quality non Chinese oil filter and you're set.

Check to see if that application calls for Mobil 1 ESP oil, use it and don't waste your time with the 1000 mile cheap oil change.

I struggle sourcing the ESP rated stuff sometimes.

After growing up with V8 gas engines, I bought my first diesel. The first time I checked the oil I nearly fainted. It was dead black. That is when I learned that it gets that way in about ten or twenty or thirty miles and is nothing to worry about.

You have to use Mobil1 ESP in this engine.

Keep an eye on NAPA, they run a Mobil 1 sale event regularly with any kind of M1 at $5.99 a qt. I buy 6 cases enough to do all 4 cars.

X3 on the ESP oil for the Bluetec! Yes, it is harder to find than every other oil, but important to use. I have found it on sale at Pep Boys.
Also, remove the oil filter first, so it will have a chance to completely drain.

I've seen the Mobil 1 ESP 5W30 on Amazon for $110 for a case of 12 quarts. Also can find the Pennzoil Euro L that is listed on the spec sheet from M-B at Walmart for $24/5-quart jug.

Change it and run it out to MB's recommended OCI unless running under adverse conditions (dust, lot of stop and go). X3 on diesel rated oil for DP vehicles (2007 and newer).

M1 rebates

Check the M1 website. Twice a year they have been running a rebate, $12 back (each) on up to 2 - 5 quart jugs of M1. $25 at Walmart and $12 off is a bargain.

Except WM does not carry the ESP oil and it’s not available in the 5 qt/$25 version. Normal price for ESP is in the $10/qt range.

the rebate is good from most retailers,

Check the T's & C's when it is posted. Your choice to save some $ or not. I tried to attach the offer from last fall, single quarts or 5 quart jugs qualify.
