Considering a 10-12 w212 bluetec

My 05 Cdi should turn 300,000 miles around April. I am considering a w212 with the bluetec v6. Really I would like the 2.1 4 cyl, but the prices are too steep.
Plenty of examples of the pre facelift for 10-13,000.
Any of these years any better than the others?
I have already cut my teeth on working on the v6. Had to replace the swirl motor on the wife’s gl.
Any thoughts? I did a search but didn’t find much.

The main reason for me is wanting the upgraded electronics. Like Bluetooth, etc.

Find the cleanest lowest mileage used one possible, lowish miles DOESN'T mean clean.
As a current lube tech, I've seen cars with 30k or 50k or 70k miles that are somehow BEAT, cosmetically.

Don't forget to grease the screw and threads on the spring compressor.

My best advice is to buy from a MB dealer as opposed to private sale or BHPH lot.

Thought being that even though it’s not going to be CPO at that age, at least you have a chance that it was a trade in from a loyal customer who always maintained it.

Here is a search I use to find MBs at dealers. Edit the string to put your zip code instead of mine.
https://www.mbusa.com/mercedes/cpo/inventory/zip-29229/class-E:SDN,GLK:SUV,M:SUV/fueltype-D
At the top check the box that says ‘Include all pre-owned’

There is a history document called a VMI (Vehicle Master Inquiry) that is an internal dealer only document. If you get serious about buying one ask the sales guy to go to service department and print it out for you so you have the history. This info comes from the MB servers when the repair orders are loaded at the dealerships, so it will only have MB dealer service records. Later models store all the service history in the on board computer, but you have to have a proprietary MB laptop and interface box to read it.

Be prepared to eventually deal with all the AdBlue system related problems. Also, these are very sensitive to oil change intervals, and the importance of the proper oil being used (ESP). They sludge up easily, so a borescope inspection of the bottom end through the oil drain plug would be worth the effort. There are plenty of horror stories on different forums, so read up before you purchase a vehicle with one of these engines.
