in the Movie Step up there is a late 70's early 80's benz. Not sure if it's a diesel or not.

Dents? LOL ... on his bad day, I would think he'd end up with the grill smooshed into the trunk. Poor Jake ... that guy just could not get over the hump. I'm so glad to get a glimpse of Cutler though ... I have my fingers crossed for tomorrow, although to be honest I don't see them getting far in the AFC playoffs. Now the NFC ... that's another story! Good luck to your 'Boys ... would be a good time for them to ramp it back up quickly.

OK, I'll end the reckless thread hijack.

Better to see what you have in Cutler than more of the same with Jake. Think they're happy in Arizona......
If a team is gonna ramp it up, there aren't many better teams to face than the Lions. Millen in football and Isiah Thomas in round ball are Teflon!!
Hijack over.

Couldn't have been a SDL, Beverly Hills Cop came out in like what, 1982? SDLs didn't make it to the US until late 1985 at the earliest. On the cover for the film, Eddie Murphy is pictured with a R107 and W126, maybe the 126 is a diesel, not sure.

Huh

Surprised no one has mentioned the HBO series.. The Wire.

They have a 126 that's always hanging around. It's in the opening credits of the first couple seasons. It makes routine appearances in the city scenes.

Your right, it must have been an SD, there was the other badge on the trunk opposite the 300SD badge.

Casino Royale has a very short shot of a 123 near the beginning in the Uganda scene.

It's funny that this thread should get started up again, because today, one of our local channels has started to air reruns of Hart to Hart. So, this diesel geek will be looking for and hearing out for the 300TD in the episodes that I catch.

That was one of my favourite TV shows, often because of the Benz! The 300TD was the family car starting 1982, I believe, and the 450SL was always in the opening scene! Iv'e always wanted one of those since the introduction of the series!

Yes, and the nice thing was the producers didn't try to block the sounds of the diesel engine either! It was obviously a diesel!

In Black Hawk Down, the car used to mark the target building is a very battered diesel (clatter audible) benz, W115? (I'm not very familiar with anything earlier than the W116). Shortly after that scene, there's a quick flash of a white W123 Coupe, no badge visible.

I was watching Rocky 3 and when he goes to Russia to train, at the airport 2 Late 70's MB pick him and his crew up. Trying to remember I think one was a 300SD, and the other one might have been a 300D.

Also, I think it was in Ronin??. There is a chase scene, maybe in Paris with an older 4 door 300D... I think.
