In all fairness to Governor Bush of Florida . . . he does have to oversee a state filled with folks that seem to have a hard time figuring where to punch on a ballot . . .

I understood that last week he declared that he's taking responsibilty for the shortcomings of the relief effort, deflecting any blame directed at FEMA . . . so what exactly does that "taking responsibility" entail? Is he going to fire himself or reassign himself to be a consultant? Is he going to forfeit his salary? Is he going to have to perform community service? Write on the blackboard 500 times . . . I dunno . . . "I will be better prepared for an emergency in the future."

I always wonder what that means to. "I take full responsibility...." Whenever the top dog says that, I wait for the qualifier.

I don't see the liberal leaders in california have earthquakes cleaned up overnight either.....maybe someone needs to harp on them too.

October 17, 1989 (World Series Earthquake)
The Calif governor was Republican C. George "Duke" Deukmejian, Jr.

January 17, 1994 Northridge Earthquake. The same year that Ahnold was making "True Lies" there was a gubenatorial election, pitting Kathleen Brown against incumbent Republican Pete Wilson. Wilson remained in office until defeated by Democrat Gray Davis in 1998.

September 3, 2003 Yountville Earthquake. Gray Davis was in office. The damage was mostly to historic buildings in Napa.

Which earthquake are you talking about?

You veto it because it is not the government's responsibility, nor is it the taxpayers' responsibility, to ensure that you and your local gas station are prepared for hurricanes.

You KNOW that you live in a hurricane-prone area. Why don't YOU make sure that you are prepared?

Just my .02
Precisely.

Welcome, bro. Glad to have another person with some damned common sense around here.
