Thats what I did with my Razr. When they first came out everyone wanted one, I waited like a year and got it for free with a new contract. No way I'm paying $400 for the latest fad. BTW my Razr has been totaly trouble free and flawless, guess it pays to wait...

I'll consider an Iphone next June when my contract is up, by then it will be cheap. No way I'm paying more then like $50 for it with a new contract.

All this techno crap is such a waste of money. I'd give up the camra and net access if I could find a phone that worked EVERYWHERE. I don't want gadgets, I'll give every single one up for a basic phone that works everywhere.

Thank you, at least someone my age thinks like me.

Last weekend I was chilling in my friends back yard in Trumbull by his lake. I had an important business call coming in but I couldn't understand the other person, the conversation was all broken up. I'm like WTF I'm in the middle of one of the most populated places on earth and I can't have a phone conversation. But I do have a super pointless camra that is only remotely interesting when I am drunk. But I can check my email right? Well not really its so slow and the screen is so small I really can't. Who designs this crap?

Then it gets old fast, a newer version comes out - inevitably smaller and faster - and everyone on the cutting edge with money to burn buys those and your prized gadget is now 1/2 its price. And 'so yesterday'.

So...I'll give it time for others to work out the inevitable bugs, network issues, and for the carriers and the market to perform their back and forth dance until some decent rates are offered.

Maybe by the time the iPhone Nano comes out, I'll jump on.

Not to rain on anyone's parade, mind.
Here, here.

I understand the web hookup is way slow -- oh boy, I get to squint at a small screen that I can't see outside anyway, so that I can strain my eyes to watch a TV show or check my e-mail, both of which take forever to load?!? I don't think so.

More eventual toxic waste for our nation's landfills and groundwater all in service of the quest for greater and more magnificent gee-gaws.

Meanwhile, the nation's youth get fatter.

Ever seen those towers disguised as trees? They look like something from a computer game, but it does a good job of blending. If you live somewhere with massively tall trees.

Got one near here. In the summer you can't see it for the trees.

In the winter it looks just like an oversize weird evergreen.

Yep they are pretty commen around their. But that area is almost one huge dead spot because people don't want cell towers near their $2m houses.

Yep, in So. Cal. they look like palm trees. Hard to tell they're fake at first glance.

I'm going to wait for a while to see what actual users say and what other companies come up w/ in response, but may get one after the next iteration. It is a very cool thing to look at and use: http://www.apple.com/iphone/usingiphone/guidedtour.html
