My StarTac is CDMA on Sprint. They still support it, and it still works on analog. That option is expensive, at $.89/minute. Still, I've used it a few times, and every time I was quite happy to pay the toll.
In fact, the main factor which is keeping me from "upgrading" my handset is losing the analog coverage. |

Actually, it will be somewhat of a relief when analog no longer is a factor. Some of the new handsets look pretty good. My current plan has another advantage though; I have no contract. I did allow Sprint to give me a one-year contract once, but that was one year out of ten. I'm strictly month-to-month, and can change providers on a whim (not that I get many whims). |

There is one potential situation where I would use 1000 minutes in a month, and that's talking to work. And then, I pay something like $.40 per minute for those minutes not included in my plan, and would expense them to work. In short, I don't care. But I'm not self-employed, and don't have the benefits or the liabilities of such.
