Day 3-
Things are not going well... The morning monsons have overturned all of last nights work on the sock situation, and it seems that now we must cut our way through, as the jungle has thickened considerably. Half of the porters had stolen away by dawn, carring with them many essentials... particularly grevious is the loss of the quinine. Uta seemed puzzled by my map last night at camp, I tried my best to explain it, but he was continuously distracted by the monkeys hurling seed pods at him. I can only hope and pray that the river lies ahead, and that from there we can begin to make real progress.
