If the hearings were not televised, I wonder how much of this would continue. Call me a cynic.

Geez, recess is over! Get back to class...

BTW, cmac2012, a while back I had to point out to everyone that when a liberal/Dem is losing an argument, the name-calling/nick-name game starts anew.

Guess who got caught flinging the first bit of "name-mud?"

Yep.

And Perago...you should know better than to get baited by cmac2012...

FACT: People either love Rush, or HATE HIS @55 SO BAD that they pi55 tacks...fair enough.

BUT, when we have legislators, on the Congressional floor, demanding either public apologies or threaten to ban a persons' right to free speech, it's damn time to get into Congress and remove the idiots from office.

If anyone, on this forum, doesn't see this, then good luck to you when the day comes that YOU'VE SAID THE WRONG THING.

(Acccording to what the majority around you thinks. I believe Nazi Germany & Stalinist Russia both practiced "selective speech" very well during their years of rule.)
I've been using the term "phony soldier(s)" consistently through this thread and others. Doesn't seem to be a huge inability for people to understand what is meant. Seems like there are folks whose ability to understand and use english is directly proportional to thier partisanship.

As far as Rush Limbaugh goes, I don't fit your mold - I'm ambivalent towards the guy. I think selling the Senate letter on Ebay was a brilliant move though - almost Rovian in it's execution.

I'd be more impressed if, when asking for the authors' matching donations, he had offered to match it himself. Or did he?

I also know nothing about the charity which is targeted, but only because I didn't care enough to investigate. I would assume that the authors of the letter would care enough to check it out, if they took him seriously. Of course, I doubt the latter.

In effect he's selling his own property since Clearchannel gave it to him. My understanding is that he's been involved with the Marine-Law enforcement charity for quite some time and funneled a lot of $$ thier way. Don't know if/how much is his or not. I believe the charity helps children of LEOs and Marines injured/killed in the line of duty. All that's off the top of my head, I'm sure others can correct errors or fill in more info.

I agree, but he wants the price it fetches to be matched, and it will fetch a greater price with the results going to (pretty much any) charity. He could easily also match the price himself. Saying that he was going to do that before asking others to do so would show more class (but does he have class?).

I'm not denigrating the charity; as I said I know nothing of it. But were I one of the authors and were going to take him up on the offer, I'd find a different charity. Perhaps one with the same aim. But different because I am sure that the authors do not really like the man and wouldn't take his charity recommendations at face value.

Here is the proof of Rush’s dedication to match the full eBay auction final selling price, it is available on his web site, but I guess some of you are not able to type www.rushlimbaugh.com in your web browser or find his radio show in your local area. He has also asked each of the 41 people who signed the letter to match the final bid also!

Some of you may not be able to watch all of the videos but that is your problem. It makes perfect sense to me. We are all not wired the same I guess, but I don't know why some people do not realize truth when they hear, view, or read it. Call me an odd ball or whatever you wish but some of the people in our Congress or future Presidential candidates are not on the right track to protect us as the Constitution was written.

As we have all paid for this letter as it was writen during business hours, you can get a PDF copy for yourself to hang on your refrigerator.

I am able to type the address to his website and am able to listen to his show, but I have absolutely no desire. I was sure that if he had indeed offered to personally match the winning bid that someone would tell me and I wouldn't have to personally read through or listen to his drivel to find out!

This is the answer to the question that I asked. Thanks.

I'm sorry you feel that way, you can always see the Fox News interview with Rush this morning 10/16/07 here, but i guess you don't look at Fox News also, are you one of the "other wired" ones?

I don't "look at" any news that isn't printed. I don't need someone to read me the headlines. They read too slowly.

"Other wired?"

Matt, The bid on eBay is now up to $105,300. If all of the signers of the letter to Mark Mays from Harry Reid were to honor Rush's request that they also match the winning bid and send their donation to the MC-LEF the total contribution would be over 4.5 million dollars!

If you only "read" your news perhaps I could send you (pay for) a subscription the the Limbaugh Letter but I would only do that if you would promise to read it every month

"other wired" = it's OK for Congress to try to squash, quiet, try to remove the freedom of speech, lie about a private citizen (on the floor of congress) while we pay for their salary, etc.

I hope the Air-America crowd isn't putting a deadbeat bidder on this.

I can't believe that Rush Limbaugh's thread has gotten so long. I suspect it has something to do with the fact that he has big boobs. . . . . Big Man-boobs . . . "Moobs."

If logic is not on your side go for the ad hominum.
Very intelligent argument!
