In order to surrender, you must first have a war. We had a war.........and then we had "mission accomplished". The "war" was over at that point.

We now have a babysitting service. Our men babysit and prevent the two factions from killing themselves. Unfortunately, the factions kill our boys in the process.

So, continue with your delusions of "surrender"...........just try to find a war first.

If you mean it that way, it suggests a pretty shallow comprehension of the views of the Democratic party platform I would think - or of the definition of the word "surrender".

Or else Hannity/Savage/Limbaugh/Coulter name-calling. What say you?

Like a "Timpani", that's a good one. But I prefer "like the family mule" or "like a red headed stepchild" myself
Have you ever noticed that the people who refer to talk show hosts the most are the ones who dislike them the most? It makes me wonder who actually listens to them.

Surrender is a simple concept. The Democrat Party embraces it with great enthusiasm. Obama is the Democrat party's apparent nominee. He's to be the Great Surrenderer in Chief.

What you call surrender is the will of the people.

Eventually the people have a collective wisdom that supercedes the leaders unwise choices.

Too bad it has cost us so much for this unwise choice.

It could be argued that by being drawn into an unending mideast war we have actually surrendered to the desires of Al Queada.

1. Doesn't make it any less surrender.

2. the people can, and often do, make unwise collective choices. It's the downside of democracy that we tolerate. Because it is collective does not imbue it with virtue. A lynch mob makes collective choices, too.

3. On this we disagree.

4. You have borrowed CMAC's crystal ball?

Red face Who will win?

Is Barry Goldwater still alive?

If not, and we can't revive him, let's revive Robert A. Heinlein. He did flirt with California politics at one point, before he became a writer.

(Gosh, my political views have really changed since the 1990s.)

2. We are supposed to be a nation of laws not men. This applies to the lynch mob as well as it does the president.

Yes. That is why we have representative democracy, to moderate the mob and make deliberated decisions. But even so, a bill passed by congress and signed into law has no special virtue because of that. It can still be dead wrong and I'll bet a moment's reflection will result in your agreement. Shall we list what we believe to be ill-considered acts of Congress? I'm willing to bet we could, between us, make a list of at least a couple of dozen and not even make it back to the 19th century.

The next time we're considering getting into a war, I think Congress should be subjected to mandatory history lectures complete with audio visual aids . . . .

This true, but I believe this administration will go down in history as being one which flaunted the law much more possibly any other.

The cancer is in remission, even though the patient is on life support. The patient prefers that to hospice.
