Abuse by a despot against one group does not justify abuse by that formerly abused group against others. To that degree, I would not cut a mullah an iota of slack. I can understand vengeance if it is targeted against the perp. But lashing-out at the world is just nucking futs.

My last staement's bias is due to the lack of violence on the part of wacko fundamentalist Christians in comparison to wacko fundamentalist Muslims.

Also, when a wacko fundamentalist Christian goes nuts and bombs an abortion clinic or some such, it is an aberration condemned by all other anti-abortionist Christians. When some fundamentalist Muslim dynamites a bus load of kids or a marketplace the other fundamentalist Muslims are all, "Allehu Akhbar!"

There is clearly a difference of about 500 years of secularism's impact on Christianity, a tradition virtually unknown in darul-Islam.

How is Iran "lashing-out" at the world? I think they mind their own business a lot more than we do.

I'm not sure about all anti-abortion Christians condemning killings of abortion doctors. How do you know that every single one of them condemn those things? What constitutes condemnation anyway? The fact is, there are wackos in every religion. Not long ago Christians were killing each other in the name of Jesus in Northern Ireland, and death threats were issued to the judge who ruled in favor of evolution in Dover, PA. But yes currently Islam is probably the one religion being hijacked the most by extremists.

Read the focking newspaper. The Irish weren't butchering each other over Jesus, they were butchering each other over political power. They identify with a church in the same way that politically active Poles identified with shipyard trade unions prior to the fall of the Iron Curtain. I have never heard of any Irish or English claim that God told them to butcher civilians on the opposite side. Want to bet whether I can find a youtube of that from a Muslim?

I have never, ever seen crowds of screaming Christian anti-abortionists thrusting their guns into the air and letting fly with streams of automatic weapons fire and ululating over the deaths of abortionist doctors. Maybe you have and you could point me to the youtube clips.

Do you want to bet on whether or not I can find clips of wacko Muslims behaving in that manner over the violent deaths of noncombatants?

I don't care what they're butchering each other for, it's still butchering. The same can be said of Sunni and Shiite Iraqis butchering each other. You could say it's over political power and it mainly is.

I could also say that I've never seen Muslims get all worked up about evolution. Anyway, I'm not a fan of any organized religion, they're all pretty repulsive to me.

Talking costs nothing but can gain everything. Shouting 'I'll kill you' through TV is not only not going to win you friends, it's childlike in its stupid shallowness.
If a guy tries to carjack you, you're pretty much not going to like him whether he gets away with your car or not. Nor will you testify on his behalf at his trial. We are the carjacker here. This ridiculous calling out axis of evil BS (though clever in its 'psst. Hitler. Satan' word association) leads to nothing but ensuring they'll hate you worse and think they're right in doing so. They call you evil, you call them evil. They act violently, you act violently. Nobody helps anybody thay way. Threaten them, cajole them, pressure them, convince them, get them to understand you, and you'll be a lot further along in getting what you want from them.

Talk all you want. Unless you have something to give them that THEY WANT and they have something to give you that YOU WANT, it's just words.

More than what? Infinity plus 1 is still infinity.

With what do you threaten and pressure them with? More words? Pretty empty unless you can carry out the threat. You are assuming they are going to be reasonable. Do you think they are reasonable or will be? Not without something stamping them down first.

Nobody is reasonable after you've assaulted them. They may temporarily concede, but bet your a$$ they'll take the first shot they can at you.

We have negotiated with many countries with positions of varying opposition to ours. Like the Soviet Union or South Africa or China. Do you really think any of them basically gave in because of fear of what we might do? Global politics is more complicated than carrot and stick.

No, I mean who among the candidates has mentioned negotiating with anyone? I believe the uproar is about Obama saying he will engage in talks with Iran. Talks, not negotiations. I'm not defending Obama's approach, I'm just asking when talking became negotiating.

Global politics is more complicated than carrot and stick.
And you wonder why I favor elimination.

We cracked the USSR by outspending them. As to South Africa and China, you can call it what you want but everytime they acted or didn't, it was because there was something, one way or the other in it for them.

No it is not. If you have nothing to offer, why should they give a damn about your requests?

At this point there is nothing to negotiate.
It's about consideration of an attempt to create a platform for dialog.
That's a very remote position, but it is more of an agreeable position than a disagreeable one.

Whether Obama has got what it takes to score, I don't know. Just because his middle name is Hussein and he is willing to do so has the least effect on a possible successful intervention.

I would think a MB-shop delegation could be just as successful ....

Only time will tell. They are a super secret societies and I believe they will be back for more soon enough. Countries like N. Korea and Iran do not honor agreements, they use them to stall and hide behind until their next surprise.

Tell what? They haven't honored their agreements yet, have they?

Of course they will. If some sucker gives you something for nothing, won't you be back for seconds?

So what is the point of negotiations and agreements?
