Yeah, up and about. Walked the dog a few times, went out to lunch but mostly watched things on TV on demand or netflix.

Thumbs up

Gotta keep at it ~ when they put the metal plates & screws in my neck I was a basket case for some days ~ they refused to give me coffee in bed ~ I could get all the tea I wanted,I wanted COFFEE DAMMIT so that helped me get up and out after ten days.....

Being still is awful for some of us .

Mind the Doctor's orders closely ! .

Only one black eye, I guess she only had to tell you once.

Just back from the one day checkup. All is good.

The difference in coloration now with the new lense is pretty dramatic. White is very white in the new lense, now the old one looks like weak tea. If it were a repair on a car with this much difference in color you'd reject it for sure.

With what , a plastic one or a donated one ? .

I know nothing about cataract surgery, please detail if you don't mind .

If you do, forget it .

Yes, as I u nderstand it they take away the cloudy surface of the lense and insert a plastic lense with some correction built in. If I did not have astigmatism and a tendency for the eyes to cross I could probably not wear glasses in the future, but with all that I need I will need them for the other corrections.

Too much for me to absorb! Look all you want though.

Well one of our daughters works in this field. She is a believer in people knowing exactly what is wrong. Simply because certain conditions are very progressive. Yet treatable.

She has told me several times that the consequences can be going blind if left too long. Things can just creep up. She has had to be very blunt with people in some cases.

Great it went well and sounds like it was a very fast operation. I had a minor one of a differant nature. Was surprised at how fast it was done as well while I was awake. I am starting to feel like an old car needing this and that periodically. What surprised me is I thought it took novacain a few minutes to take effect. Instead he injected the stuff and started cutting right away. I felt no pain.

My hip got pretty sore for a few days and quite painful from erecting a lot of staging last week. As the wife says you are not 25 anymore.

Fortunatly the hip eased off to normal after several days of marginal sleep. I was somewhat apprehensive the joint was really damaged for a few days.. I realize I will have to stop lifting heavy objects or this will reoccur. Well at least heavy objects in relation to my age.

People with permanent joint damage must really suffer. If they do not want to ingest a lot of drugs. It is something when you can barely walk because of the pain it creates. Plus trying to get to sleep in the least painful position. That you really do not like to start with. I think you have to actually experience it to really comprehend it.

Glad your hip got better!

My eyes are pretty good now but are sensitive to bright light. I'll get a burning sensation from time to time though.

I have heard that some people wear sunglasses for awhile after your procedure Tom.

Yes good coincidence in general seems to still follow me. I took this as a warning now. To avoid pushing things too far. The wife was right that I am not twenty five anymore. It could have been permanent damage.

Part of the good if there is really any. Is it made me feel like it probably does for all too many people. Now that I fully understand what it is like. Disabling joint pain almost as a regular diet has to be really something to live with. Other than this event in general I have had 100 percent easy mobility always. I still seem to have good stability thankfully as well. At the same time I now always use safety rails on the staging.

I have heard people get semi used to the pain involved . It would take them a long time though in my opinion if ever. I will actually get back to work as soon as the rain stops.

Last night the weak remainder of the recent southern hurricane finished passing through our region. I am watching the temperature drop as the storms in central Canada move in from the west now with even more rain.

Post Making Do

I can't say I get used to the constant pain but, I manage to keep busy and moderate my workload or sometimes just work until I hit the wall then crawl into my recliner and wait for the pain to reduce sufficiently that I can bathe and change ibnto clean clothes .

I don't think I've slept in my bed for several months now .

? 25 ? I wish I was 40 .

Or 50, or........

Life goes on, I'm pleased to still be alive and somewhat ambulatory .
