She went to the brain surgeon yesterday. He read her current brain scan and said all the blood from her brain bleed had been reabsorbed. She is doing very well now, never using her walker around the house. It is wonderful.

She is still recovering though and it will be a good while until she can say she is 100%.

I have financing now for both houses but the smaller one the lender wants 6.25%. The managment company also has jacked the fee from 20% to 25%. I think I'm gonna back away from it and apply more down payment to the bigger house to lower the payment. I'll have to pay more capital gains taxes but the cash flow will be essentially the same either way. With just the one house if times get tough I'll be better able to carry it if necessary.

We got some bad news on our house fire project, now that the walls are all open to the studs poor previous repairs are revealed, the City wants new plans with more structural repairs, looks like we'll get hit by $20,000.00 out of pocket

I don't have any issues with him, I expected some surprises since SWMBO insisted on using a jackleg contractor for the massive remodeling she had done not long ago .

I was surprised to discover that permitted alterations done 30 years ago, before she ever bought the place, were also done below code and passed inspection .

Sigh .

I have learned in life to always plan for the very worst, this way things rarely go as badly as I expect them to .

This time I expected bad things and have tried to get her to see why, it took this house fire deal to make everything come to light .

Life goes on, we'll manage one way or another .

Be sure to remind me I said I'm O.K. with this guy when I begin complaining later on, O.K. ? .

Today the Mrs. drove by herself to lunch to the other side of town and back with no issues. It made me nervous but I did not feel I should try to forbid it.

I got one new kirkey seat to replace the too wide intermediate road racing seats. along with brackets and adjustable tracks. When they took the existing seats out they found they were mounted in a completely bogus way that did not hold them solid at all. They got the front pulleys and such off in preparation to replacing the camshaft.

I'm getting pretty excited to be able to drive it!

Oh, I see. Looks like a closed stairwell where the fellow is working...? Then there are some things coming closer to the camera that look a little unusual structurally. Is the municipality requiring structural rebuild in that area?

Is one leg of his ladder 2" above the floor?

Yes, there are structural issues, three support headers need fixing, some termite damage, blah blah blah .

Yes, his ladder is twisted and one foot is about 1" off the ground .
